Paige Bell, a 20-year-old South African, was tragically found dead in the engine room of the luxury superyacht Far From It on July 3, 2025, while the vessel was docked off Harbour Island, Bahamas. The yacht, operating in charter service with weekly rates in the six-figure range, became the scene of a shocking crime.
Originally from Johannesburg, Paige had previously worked aboard the motor yacht Sweet Emocean until December 2024. Colleagues remembered her as bright, warm, and ambitious — someone eager to advance in the yachting industry.
The day before her death, Paige was reported missing. Authorities discovered her unresponsive with visible injuries, alongside a Mexican engineer, 39, who sustained severe arm injuries in what investigators believe was a failed suicide attempt. The suspect, Brigido Muñoz, appeared in Nassau’s Magistrate Court on July 9, where he was denied bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 20. Investigators continue probing the motive, relationships among crew, and circumstances surrounding the attack.
In the wake of her death, friends and former crewmates launched a GoFundMe to assist with funeral and repatriation costs. Supporters have also shared tributes on social media, honoring her birthday, July 14, by posting photos and enjoying her favorite red velvet cake.
